Configuration File

The iCDS server uses a configuration file (CDS.ini) to store its configuration data. This file is located in the the %INSTALLDIR%\Bin folder. Details of the configuration settings available in this file can be found here.

Altering iCDS Server Service Login

It is recommended that the default account (a local user account 'CDSService' created during installation) used to start the iCDS server service is not changed. If, however, the administrator wishes to use a different account then that account must be:

  1. Given rights to log on as a service.
  2. Given read/write permissions to %INSTALLDIR%\LogFiles.
  3. Denied local logon rights (optional).
  4. Denied remote desktop services logon rights (optional).

User Account Control

If the User Account Control feature of Windows is being used the user may be prompted to allow the iCDS installation program to run and make changes on the system. The iCDS installation program must be run using an Administrator account, or using the Run as administrator feature of Windows.

Diagnostics

For the purpose of diagnosing issues with the software or installation, log files are written to the %INSTALLDIR%\LogFiles folder:

When reporting issues back to Speakerbus Technology Ltd, please include these log files. In certain circumstances it may also be necessary to return as additional information, to aid the diagnostic process, the Windows System and Application Event Logs.
